1. Overview “JaPdf” (the “App”) is a PDF toolkit that does all of its work on your device. The App is free and supported by ads; how that works is described in section 6.
2. Data We Collect We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data or your documents on any server. We do not operate a server that holds your data. The App has no sign-up, no user account, and no login.
3. Files and Document Processing Everything the App does with your PDFs — opening and reading, merging, splitting, organizing pages, adding text and images, watermarking, compressing, password protection, and converting images or Office files to PDF — happens entirely on your device. Your files are never uploaded. Files the App creates are saved to a folder on your device, which you can change in Settings.
4. Photos and Files The App does not request access to your photo library or storage. When you add an image or open a document, your device's own system picker opens and the App receives only the files you chose — it cannot see anything else on your device. All image processing happens on device, and files the App creates are written to its own folder. The App does not use the camera. If you share a file using your system's share sheet, that file leaves the App at your direction and is then subject to the privacy policy of whichever app you send it to.
5. Passwords and Encryption Setting, changing, or removing a PDF password uses AES-256 encryption and is performed entirely on your device. If you choose to save passwords you reuse, they are stored in your operating system's secure storage (Android Keystore / Apple Keychain) on your device only. We cannot access or recover your passwords. If you forget the password to a file you encrypted, there is no way to unlock it.
6. Advertising The App displays ads through Google AdMob, a third-party service. AdMob may collect and use information such as your advertising identifier (Advertising ID / IDFA), IP address, device information, and ad interaction data in order to serve and measure ads. This data is collected by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Serving ads requires an internet connection, but every PDF tool in the App continues to work offline.
On iOS, the App presents the App Tracking Transparency prompt. You may decline, and the App will keep working normally with non-personalized ads. For users in the EEA and the UK, the App presents a consent form using Google's UMP standard, and you can change your consent choice at any time under Settings → Privacy Options.
7. Analytics The App contains no analytics and no user tracking. We do not know which files you open, which features you use, or how often you use the App.
8. Update Check When the App starts, it asks the App Store or Google Play for the currently published version so it can tell you when an update is required. That request goes to Apple or Google, not to us, and carries no personal data and no information about your files. If there is no internet connection, the App runs as normal.
9. Third-Party Sharing We do not sell, trade, or share your data with any third party, other than the advertising data collected by Google AdMob as described in section 6.
10. Data Deletion All data (history, settings, and any saved passwords) lives on your device. You can clear history within the App, or uninstall the App to remove all of its data from your device. PDF files you created remain in your save folder and can be deleted by you.
11. Children This App is not directed to children, and we collect no personal data from any user.
12. Changes to This Policy If this policy changes, we will update this document and revise the “last updated” date above.
